Job Description: Group Copy Supervisor - Pharma Advertising
Position Overview: The Group Copy Supervisor (GCS) in the pharmaceutical advertising space is a seasoned leader responsible for guiding the creative development of high-quality, scientifically accurate, and regulatory-compliant copy across multiple brands and therapeutic categories. This role demands a deep understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, including regulatory guidelines (FDA, EMA, etc.), as well as the ability to translate complex medical concepts into clear, engaging, and impactful messaging for various audiences, including healthcare professionals and patients.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Mentorship: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of copywriters, providing guidance on creative direction, tone, and strategic messaging. Foster a collaborative and innovative environment that encourages creative excellence.
Content Development: Oversee the development of copy for a wide range of promotional materials, including digital campaigns, print ads, websites, social media, video scripts, and sales aids. Ensure that all content aligns with brand strategy and meets client objectives.
Regulatory & Compliance: Ensure all copy adheres to industry regulations and legal standards, working closely with medical, legal, and regulatory teams to obtain necessary approvals.
Client Collaboration: Act as a key point of contact for clients, presenting creative work, articulating strategic decisions, and addressing feedback. Build and maintain strong client relationships through consistent, clear communication.
Strategic Insight: Collaborate with account services, strategy, and creative teams to develop and refine brand strategies, ensuring that messaging aligns with the overall brand vision and marketing goals.
Quality Assurance: Maintain high standards of copy quality, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail across all projects. Review and approve all copy before it is delivered to clients or published.
Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing deadlines, client needs, and team workloads. Ensure timely delivery of all projects.
Qualifications:
Experience: 7+ years of copywriting experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare advertising, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
Expertise: Strong understanding of pharmaceutical marketing, regulatory requirements, and medical terminology. Ability to simplify complex scientific information.
Skills: Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills. Strong leadership and communication abilities. Proficiency in digital and traditional media.
Education: Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field; advanced degree in a life sciences discipline is a plus.
