A small cell therapy company based in San Diego, CA, emerging in the autoimmune sector, is looking to add a key decision-maker to its Quality Control team. This opportunity seeks expertise in raw materials to support their in-house handling of materials, which is commonly outsourced. They filed their first IND for their autoimmune study, entering phase 1. They have a strong team covering their oncology and autoimmune pipelines within cell therapy. The organization is privately held and just established a new partnership, securing strong funding for the foreseeable future.
Roles and responsibilities:
- Establish a relationship and manage contract laboratories and other vendors
- Articulate needs for the development of new and existing assays
- Be a subject matter expert on raw material matters within cGMP
- Write technical reports and methods to validate, verify, and qualify raw material testing
- Expand team, manage hiring, and train/mentor direct reports
- Implement and recommend QC system improvements
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Quality Control at a cell-therapy organization
- Established manager and desire to build a team
- Strong understanding of raw materials
