Position Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced AI Research Scientist to lead the design and implementation of next-generation AI models for drug discovery. In this role, you will work closely with an elite founding team to develop innovative AI solutions that integrate deep learning with biological data, driving forward transformative advancements in areas such as protein design and small molecule discovery.
Key Responsibilities
- Model Development: Design, implement, and evaluate novel AI models tailored for drug discovery applications, including protein design and small molecule discovery.
- Project Leadership: Manage large-scale machine learning research projects, ensuring they align with strategic business and scientific objectives.
- Scalable Systems: Scale models on massive datasets using distributed computing across multiple GPU nodes.
- Innovative Techniques: Develop new methodologies focused on large-scale models for biomolecular design.
- Pipeline Engineering: Build, test, and maintain robust AI pipelines for processing and analyzing extensive biological and chemical datasets.
- Collaboration & Integration: Partner with software engineering teams to integrate AI models into production systems and customer workflows.
- Research & Communication: Stay current with the latest advancements in AI and bioengineering, and contribute to research papers, patent applications, and case studies.
Qualifications
- Educational Background: Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, or a related field.
- Technical Expertise: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on deep learning model development experience, with proficiency in PyTorch, JAX, or TensorFlow.
- Core Competencies: Strong foundation in machine learning, deep learning, and AI algorithms.
- Leadership & Innovation: Demonstrated ability to independently lead research projects, as evidenced by publications at top conferences or senior technical leadership roles.
- Domain Experience: Prior experience applying AI to biomolecular data is a plus.
- Team Leadership: Experience managing technical teams or complex projects is highly desirable.
